Choose your opponent and your challenge
Set your side, board orientation, and one of five difficulty levels—from a welcoming Rookie game to the lodge’s sternest Mighty challenge. Your opponents are The Jock, Mayor Oak, Lumberjack Joe, Ranger Steve, and Sawyer the Drifter, each with a distinct portrait, personality, and library of reactions to what is actually happening on the board.

Complete chess, powered locally
The computer game runs locally with Stockfish, while chess rules, legal moves, check, checkmate, castling, promotion, repetition, and draw conditions are handled directly in the app. A move trail, captured-piece display, board flip, undo, FEN copy, and PGN import and export make it useful for both a quick lodge match and a closer look at a position.

Hints that coach instead of taking over
Progressive hints unfold in stages: first a strategic nudge, then the suggested piece, and finally the destination square. The move remains yours. The selected opponent delivers the guidance in character, with repetition controls that keep greetings, reactions, tactical observations, and match conclusions from feeling like a canned loop.
Built for desktop, phone, keyboard, and controller
The responsive interface keeps the opponent, board, and essential controls readable on a phone, while desktop players can use mouse, touch, keyboard navigation, or a standard controller. Reduced Motion suppresses decorative movement, and the installable PWA continues working offline after its first load.

The match has a characterful ending
Victory, defeat, draw, and stalemate each receive their own presentation and opponent response. Wins can celebrate with a warm glow and lightweight confetti; losses are handled with supportive, non-shaming language; and Reduced Motion keeps the ending calm when animation is disabled.

The lodge is only the opening board
This first edition establishes the BrawnyAi Classic lodge: walnut textures, warm firelight, and familiar residents across the table. Future releases are planned to add swappable boards, pieces, menus, environments, opponent moods, and complete visual themes drawn from Lumberlandia and other styles across the BrawnyAi universe—while preserving the same dependable chess game underneath.
BrawnyAi Chess, its character performances, and the visual worlds around it are built independently. Upgrading to 💪MightyPro directly supports new games, new themes, and the continuing evolution of Lumberlandia.
