đRainy Days and Historic Streets: London with My Digital Hunks
Hello đȘMightyBrawnies!
As some of you may know, Iâve been exploring the vibrant city of London with my digital hunks, and let me tell youâitâs been a journey! Although the weather could be better (typical end-of-summer rain and grey skies), weâre still having a blast. Fun fact: London is often referred to as the âcity of grey weatherâ because of its frequent rainy days and overcast skies. On average, London gets 106 rainy days a year! The mix of moisture from the Atlantic and the cool temperatures keeps those clouds hanging around, giving the city its iconic grey tone.
Despite the weather, Londonâs energy is unmatched. Walking through its streets reminds me of other buzzing cities like Tokyo and New York. The subways are packed, the streets are alive, and thereâs always something happening. London is, after all, the capital of the former British Empire, and the cityâs importance is felt everywhereâfrom its history to its current global influence.
Now, letâs talk about that history. London was founded by the Romans nearly 2,000 years ago, and over the centuries, it grew into one of the most important cities in the world. At its height, the British Empire covered nearly a quarter of the Earthâs surfaceâimagine that! From Hong Kong to Canada, Brazil to South Africa, the influence of the British Empire has shaped so many parts of the world, including my own life. Iâve lived and traveled to countries touched by the Empire, and its impact is still felt today in ways big and small.
But itâs not all about landmarks and history. While the United Kingdom is now very LGBT-friendly, the Victorian morality era left its mark in many countries once under British influence. That same moral code, with its rigid rules around sexuality, still affects LGBT communities globally. Even today, people in places that inherited these values continue to struggle with shame and hiding who they are. Itâs a reminder that while weâve come far, thereâs still work to be done.
As for the adventures with my digital hunks? Weâve taken them to see Big Ben and the Parliament, where some of the worldâs most important decisions have been made. And of course, we couldnât resist leaving a little mark of our ownâyou might spot our stickers near some of these landmarks if you look closely. đ
Thanks for following along on this journey with me and the hunks. I appreciate your support, and Iâm glad youâre part of this adventureâtogether weâre exploring the world, history, and the stories that shape us.
With love â€ïž,
B
